Background IKBN

The National Youth Institute of Alor Gajah (IKBN Alor Gajah) is one of the agencies under Ministry of Youth and Sport Malaysia. It was the first constructed under the 7 Malaysia Plan from year 1996 to year 2000 with a budget of RM 43 millions.

located at lot 641 and 644 in Ramuan China Besar, Masjid Tanah, Melaka covering over 50 hectares. The construction of IKBN Alor Gajah finished on 16 of May 2002. There are 12 blocks built around this area such as Administration Building, hall,, quarters, Hospitality School, prayer hall, cafeteria, hostels, dining hall, library, and Electronic and Electrical school.

It started to operate on 16 of August 2002, with 94 staff,; 38 from administration staffs, and 56 from the teachers, operating the IKBN Alor Gajah.

The institute focused on the school graduates whose age between 18 to 30 years old and the aim is to train this group of young people to become country's skilled and semi-skilled industrial workers in order to contribute on the development of the country . there are four main courses offered in IKBN Alor Gajah; electronics and electrical engineering, hospitality, and personnel. Overall courses are 9 and the length of every course is between 12 until 36 month depending on the needs of each course they are taking; Malaysia skill certification or diploma. IKBN Alor Gajah is the centre of excellence for Hospitality courses.
